WORLD POKER TOUR and the WORLD SERIES OF POKER
By far the biggest reason for the recent explosion of Texas Hold'em popularity is the televised World Poker Tour (WPT) and the World Series of Poker (WSOP). The WPT airs in the US on the Travel Channel on Wednesday nights, with re-runs on Saturday. ESPN seems to be constantly showing the WSOP, with many more events televised than last year.
