RECOMMENDED TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER BOOKS |
Winning Low-Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones - This is perhaps the best book on low-limit hold'em for beginners. It's a must-buy for anyone just starting out in the game. |
Theory of Poker by David Sklansky - Any player serious about the game of poker will have read this book. The book doesn't always specifically address Texas Hold'em, but teaches general concepts that are applicable to all forms of poker. |
Texas Hold'em for Advanced Players - After reading Winning Low-Limit Hold'em and starting to move up into games with higher stakes, you should read Texas Hold'em for Advanced Players. Many of the techniques taught are not applicable to low-limit games-and many readers thus refer to the text as "Texas Hold'em against Advanced Players". |
Small Stakes Hold'em - by Ed Miller This book just recently came out in July of 2004, and our prediction is that it will quickly become the most popular book on low-limit hold'em. The book isn't written for beginners, and we recommend that you read Winning Low-Limit Hold'em first and gain some playing experience, but this book is sure to turn a good low-limit player into an expert.
|
Super System by Doyle Brunson: Many people call this the bible of poker. The text is split up into different section, each addressing a different variety of poker. I would recommend this text for the chapter on no-limit hold'em. |
