POKER BASICS
If you've never played poker before, it's useful to go over some poker basics. There are many variants of poker besides Texas Hold'em, and all use the same poker hand ranking system. The rules of Texas Hold'em are a little different from many other poker games, since rather than having an ante, forced bets called "blinds" are used. Also included in what we consider "poker basics" are some starting hand recommendations and an introduction to betting.
By far the best way to learn the basics of poker is to play some Texas Hold'em. Full Tilt and Ultimate Bet both offer "play money" games where you have the chance to play against real people for free.
