WPT Enterprises, the creators of the World Poker Tour television show, is suing the Travel Channel which airs the program.
The WPT claims that the Travel Channel sent letters to WPT and ESPN threatening legal action if they went ahead with plans for a new poker series. The WPT claims that these letters were unjustified and that their contract with the Travel Channel allows them to develop programs with other networks as long as the Travel Channel was given "first opportunity to license the show and last right to refusal".
